1. La Torrecilla de Nerja
The remains of La Torrecilla are located in one of the rock formations on the beach whose name coincides with that of this watchtower ( Playa La Torrecilla ). 2. Torre de Maro
The Torre de Maro is located to the west of the Vega de Maro. Area belonging to the natural area of the Cliffs of Maro . Specifically, it is 120 meters above sea level. It was built in the 16th century . The objective of its construction was the defense of the town of Nerja and Maro against the continuous attacks by pirates. It is 11 meters high. 3. Torre del Pino
The Torre del Pino is a 16th century construction. Through it, communications continued their course by connecting the Torre del Río de la Miel and Torre Caleta. Located on a rocky outcropping of high altitude. Belonging to the natural area of the Cliffs of Maro . The tower follows the Arabic style, although it was remodeled in the time of the Catholic Monarchs. This masonry work is 12 meters high on its circular base. Despite its good state of conservation, it is impossible to access it. It is located on a private estate. Although we can always see the watchtower from the Calas del Pino .
4. Torre Caleta
The Caleta Tower was built after the course of the 16th century . It was rehabilitated to improve its conservation in 2008. Its location is unique. Its access is difficult. In fact, it is only accessible on foot. It belongs to the natural area of the Cliffs of Maro . Surrounded by a landscape of great beauty. This watchtower has a height of more than 9 meters.
5. Rio de la Miel Tower
The Río de la Miel Tower is located on Molino de Papel Beach . Very close to the mouth of the Río de la Miel . Currently only the remains of what was a robust tower from the 16th century are preserved. The cause of the deterioration has been its abandonment and the effects of erosion. 6. Macaca Tower
The Macaca Tower is located on a small cliff 25 meters high. Next to the N-340 road. Specifically located in an urbanized area next to an old barracks house. The area is popularly known as Punta Lara. The construction of this watchtower was carried out in 1497. It is 12 meters high. This work from the Modern Age has partially restricted access as it is surrounded by private property. However, if you go to Nerja by road you will be able to see this work. This watchtower has been considered an Asset of Cultural Interest since 1993.
