La Caletilla Beach

La Caletilla beach is located between El Salón and Calahonda beaches. As its name suggests, it is a small cove of reduced size. It is 50 meters long. Usually its width is small. Always depending on the height of the tide. Its sand is dark and has pebbles. Its waters are shallow.

Among the residents of Nerja this beach is known under the name of “El Hotelillo”. This is because in the same cove there is a small hotel. However, the beach is totally public.

To access the cove there are two options. One of the accesses is enabled for it. Under the Balcón de Europa we find a wonderful promenade. We access it through the famous “Boquete de Calahonda” (main access to Calahonda beach ). We cross a beautiful white arch and we enter the descent towards the beach. Another way to access the cove would be by crossing a rocky path along the shore of El Salón beach . However, we must take into account the state of the tide. Whenever possible it is highly recommended to cross from one beach to another. Crossing through the rocks enjoying the waves breaking is a little adventure.
