El Salón Beach

Playa el Salón is one of the few beaches that still preserves the old essence of a fishing village that characterized Nerja. For many of the residents and tourists who visit the coast of Nerja every year, El Salón Beach is one of the most charming places.

A dark sand beach very frequented by tourists and residents during the summer. Despite not being really extensive, it is a very cozy beach. Its dimensions are summarized in 200 meters in length and 20 meters in width.

Access to this beach is only pedestrianized. Once we reached the Balcón de Europa we visualized a pedestrian descent very close to the Church of El Salvador. It is the only way to end up on the beach, but it really is one of the most beautiful accesses to all the beaches in Nerja. This cobbled slope is a sign of identity of the beach. The views from the top are truly spectacular. In the distance we can see the promenade and the characteristic rocky complex of La Torrecilla Beach. Once we are on the sand, it is impossible not to look up to see the Balcón de Europa on our left. With our back to the beach we find a cliff that surrounds it. From which it is possible to contemplate the beach in all its splendor. In short, the landscape around this beach is worth admiring.

The rocky style of this beach draws the attention of many tourists who enjoy this attraction of nature. Most of them are located at the ends of the beach. If we walk along the shore towards the Balcón de Europa, strolling, it is possible to access the adjoining beach: La Caletilla . Crossing the rocks and a beautiful arch you end up in this cozy cove.

One of the peculiarities of Playa El Salón is due to the presence of several wooden boats. The residents of the same beach are in charge of its care and maintenance.

On one side of the beach there is an old hut that was used as a shed by fishermen. Its rocky design brings a unique charm to the beach landscape.

El Salón beach has all the essential services. It has rental of hammocks, kiosks, surveillance by lifeguards, showers and bathrooms. Without forgetting that we are just a few minutes from the heart of Nerja . When you climb the famous cobbled slope, you would already find yourself on the Balcón de Europa. In addition, the Bus Station is less than a kilometer away. The location of the beach is excellent.

For many, it is a perfect plan to enjoy one of the best views of the Nerja skyline from the shore of this beach. Playa el Salón could become one of the most charming places you have ever visited.
