El Cañuelo Beach

El Cañuelo Beach

El Cañuelo Beach is one of the most popular places on the Nerja coast. Therefore, it is one of the most frequented beaches. However, during high seasons access to vehicles is restricted to avoid deterioration of the beach environment.

During the months of June to September there is a minibus service that takes you to the beach for 2 euros per person (round trip). The journey is short only from the beach to the N-340 road. Although you can access it on foot. It travels a one-kilometer long lane located 400 meters from kilometer 302 of the N-340. You will see the lane on the right side.

We are facing a large beach. It is 350 meters long and 10 meters wide. Its sand is made up of gravel. Its waves are usually moderate.

El Cañuelo beach is popular with tourists and residents for its crystal clear waters. You can enjoy the abundant marine fauna and flora that makes this beach unique. It is really recommended to snorkel in this place. In fact, the underwater caves that its environment houses are very popular.

It is one of the few beaches on the outskirts of Nerja where you will find picnic areas. You can choose between two restaurants.

It should be noted that it is a semi nudist beach. Despite being very popular in high season, its degree of occupancy is low.

The points of interest near this beach are La Cala de los Cañuelos and Peñón del Fraile. Visible points from the Cerro Gordo Cliffs , where the route to the Torre de La Caleta is located .
