El Chucho Beach is located between the mouth of the Chíllar River (adjacent to El Playazo Beach) and Torrecilla Beach.
It is a small beach with dark sand. It is 280 meters long and 30 meters wide. These dimensions are the same for both the promenade that the beach has and for its meters of sand.
The views from this beach are magnificent. On the one hand, it is possible to contemplate the ruins of the Watchtower by the sea (typical of Torrecilla Beach). On the other, the mountains that are part of the famous Sierra de Almijara. The mountain that stands out the most in the landscape is called Cuesta del Cielo (Nerja's highest peak).
Despite being a small beach, it is really cozy. It is famous for its shallow waters and for its boardwalk. Frequented daily by tourists and residents.
It can be considered that it is the beach of the locality that has the most comfortable access. Its location close to the center allows it to be accessed from different points. The beach is only 1 kilometer away from the Balcón de Europa . The Bus Station is practically the same distance.
It is possible to get to the beach from four different points. All of them pedestrian. Following the River Walk from the Verano Azul Park or from the Playa de la Torrecilla walk, you would end up at Playa El Chucho. The other two entrances are more peculiar. These are two different passageways. One of them next to a popular hotel in Nerja and the other from Calle Mérida. The latter is the most beautiful access to the beach. After crossing some beautiful white arches, we end up on the promenade of Playa el Chucho.
This beach has all the essential services (presence of a lifeguard during high season, toilets, showers, kiosk ...). We can highlight the possibility of renting sun loungers during the day. In addition, the proximity to the hotel allows you to enjoy its cafeteria or restaurant service. Although if you prefer something more typical of the Mediterranean you can always go to the beach bars located on the Torrecilla and El Playazo beaches. Both very close.
One of the charms of this beach are the rocks that are born at one of its ends. This place is popular with residents for snorkeling activities. It is worth contemplating the nature that houses its rocky seabed.
Contemplating from this beach how the sun hides between the mountains during sunset can be the perfect plan for your next vacation.
