1. King Alfonso XII
The bronze statue in honor of King Alfonso XII is one of the most popular sculptures in Nerja. Dressed and calm, the sculpture rests on the railing of the Mirador del Balcón de Europa . In front of his feet you can see the plaque of the monument: King Alfonso XII gave the name of "Balcón de Europa" to this viewpoint, on the occasion of his visit to Nerja on January 12, 1885. 2. Chanquete

3. Discoverers of the Nerja Cave
This small sculpture located on the Paseo del Balcón de Europa reproduces on a smaller scale the work that we will find at the entrance of the Cueva de Nerja . From this work the sculptor Francisco Martín illustrates the five discoverers of the caves. The figures of the discoverers rest on a globe. The 50th anniversary of the discovery of the Cueva de Nerja brought with it this magnificent work located on the Balcón de Europa.
4. Square of the Discoverers of the Cave of Nerja
In front of the entrance of the Cueva de Nerja there is a sculpture that illustrates the discoverers of the Cueva de Nerja. This work represents the five young people who explored the interior of the caves on January 12, 1959. This sculpture carved in stone commemorates the 48th anniversary of this fantastic find. The Rapture of Europe is a sculpture that you will see at the entrance to Nerja. If you travel towards Torrox you will see a large area of gardens on the left end of the road. The sculptor Aurelio Teno illustrates through this work the abduction suffered by Europa (a figure in Greek mythology). In this way, Aurelio represents the beginnings of Spain as a country of the European Union.
7. Statue of Don Quixote

The Fountain of Europe is made up of 25 stones to represent the union of the European community. Located on the seafront of La Torrecilla Beach . Under the Plaza de los Cangrejos. Although previously it was close to the Verano Azul Park.
Each of the stones comes from the countries that were part of the European Union in 2002. The central base is built through 8 stones that represent the community of Andalusia. Its inauguration was held on July 12, 2002.
9. Monument in honor of Antonio Mercero.
In tribute to the director of Verano Azul, Antonio Mercero, the Burriana Beach promenade houses a sculpture representing the work of the filmmaker during the production of the series in the 80s. The filming of the series took place mainly in Nerja and in its surroundings. Verano Azul moved many viewers of the time. Without a doubt, it is one of the most representative creations of this illustrious film director.
