The most notable pedestrian areas in the town of Nerja are the following:

1. Hernando Carabeo Street

We are facing one of the most representative streets of the unique charm of Nerja. Surrounded by small shops, restaurants and low houses. White is the main color of the street. All homes and premises follow this harmony. A short distance from the Balcón de Europa , Calle Hernando de Carabeo has been one of the liveliest places in Nerja over the years. Strolling through this street you will enjoy two of the best viewpoints in Nerja . The views towards the beaches of Carabeo and Carabeillo are impressive.

2. Painted Street

The most commercial road in Nerja. Calle Pintada brings together the largest number of shops and businesses in the town. You will find a great variety of artisan products, as well as restaurants and bars. You will also be able to contemplate one of the sculptures in honor of the Cueva de Nerja . This street is a few meters away from the Balcón de Europa.

3. Almirante Ferrándiz Street

Once we go through the Boquete de Calahonda we come to Calle Almirante Ferrándiz. The second most commercial road in Nerja (next to Calle Pintada and the Balcón de Europa). The gastronomic variety that this street offers is impressive (Asian, Indian, Italian, Spanish food…).

4. Gloria Street

Calle Gloria is a small alley next to Calle Pintada and Calle Almirante Ferrándiz. Despite its short journey here we enjoy the gastronomic heart of Nerja . You will find the best restaurants and tapas bars of Andalusian tradition immersed in a cheerful atmosphere.

5. Boquete de Calahonda

El Boquete de Calahonda is a beautiful cobbled street that will make you discover the beautiful promenade of Playa Calahonda (under El Balcón de Europa). From the Boquete de Calahonda you can see a part of the Paseo de los Carabineros and the sculpture in honor of Chanquete.

6. Paseo del Balcón de Europa

The Paseo del Balcón de Europa is one of the most visited areas of Nerja. Surrounded by the Town Hall of Nerja, El Mirador del Balcón de Europa and the Church of El Salvador. Without a doubt, this walk represents the most central area of the town. Enjoy small cobblestone alleys and a wide gastronomic variety.

7. El Salón Street

Calle El Salón can be considered one of the most beautiful streets in the urban area of Nerja. A cobbled slope with the best views of El Salón Beach (the only access enabled from the beach). Next to the Church of El Salvador and the Paseo del Balcón de Europa.

8. Plaza Cavana

Plaza Cavana is located in front of the back of Iglesia de El Salvador . On both sides you will find small shops and restaurants. Many tourists choose this place to have something refreshing.

9. Plaza de los Crabs

The Plaza de los Cangrejos is located a few meters from the seafront of Playa de Torrecilla . It is a square with spectacular views of the sea and a wide gastronomic offer worthy of your attention. The options for lunch or dinner are very varied (Spanish, Italian, Brazilian food…).

10. Promenade of La Torrecilla and El Chucho

We are facing the longest promenade on the Nerja coast. Enjoy beach bars and exceptional tranquility to walk around.

11. Paseo El Playazo

This walk is not built yet. Therefore, it still preserves the essence of the nature of Playa el Playazo. For many locals and tourists this is the best option to go for a walk. Enjoy the Sierra de Almijara on one side, and the sea on the other. This walk also offers the most traditional beach bars on the Nerja coast.

12. Burriana Promenade

We are facing the promenade that brings together the largest offer of beach bars, bars, restaurants and ice cream parlors. It is the most frequented promenade in the town. The gastronomic offer is wide (Asian, Indian, Spanish food ...).

13. Verano Azul Park

The Verano Azul Park was built in honor of the famous Verano Azul television series. It is one of the largest playgrounds in Nerja. It gathers a wide range of outdoor sports activities. Right next to the Paseo del Río Chíllar.

14. Chíllar River Walk

On the mouth of the Chíllar River on Playazo beach we find an urban promenade. It begins in the surroundings of the Verano Azul Park until it ends at the beginning of the Paseo de El Playazo. At this point a wooden bridge rests over the mouth of the river.

15. Plaza de la Ermita

The Plaza de la Ermita is a very busy space for tourists and residents. Surrounded by bars and shops. In front of it, the Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de las Angustias . Hence its name.

16. Cantarero Square
