The Nerja Cave, located 158 meters above sea level, is, with 4,823 meters, one of the most topographically developed caves in Andalusia. It has three mouths of entry, two subcircular torques and, next to them, an entrance enabled a year after the discovery, in 1960, for the access of the visits. The cavity has a practically horizontal development, with about 750 meters in length measured along its major axis and a vertical drop of about 68 meters, 37 meters above the reference level, located on the floor of the entrance, and 31 meters below it. The Tourist Galleries, with a volume of 106,286 m3 and an area of 9,371 m2, correspond, approximately, to a third of the total of the cave.
