This Tuesday, the 17th, the period of 15 calendar days opens to request municipal social emergency aid for people in situations of economic vulnerability and risk of social exclusion for the payment of rent or mortgage.
The Councilor for Social Affairs, Daniel Rivas, recalled that the City Council created this aid fund during the Covid 19 pandemic, aimed at people registered in the municipality who were in a situation of special economic and social vulnerability. However, the Municipal Government Group decided to continue with them, even increasing the budget item. Thus, the City Council is going to allocate the amount of 134,000 euros. The aid will be retroactive, from January to December, that is, the entire year, instead of 10 months as has been the case until now. Each beneficiary will receive 3,600 euros per year.
Daniel Rivas has pointed out that the deterioration of the economic situation in recent years has progressively led to an increase in the number of families who, having accessed their habitual residence through mortgage financing or rent, are still unable to adequately afford the payment. of your loans or rentals.
