The mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, today visited the works of the Municipal Center for Training and Employment that is being built on Avenida de la Constitución and which is progressing as planned, now entering its final stretch. The works will be completed before the end of this year so that, in 2024, the building can host activities, such as training courses, in the event that they are granted to the City Council by the Junta de Andalucía.
The mayor has been accompanied by councilors and technicians from the City Council and has been able to verify, on the ground, the evolution of the works that are well advanced since the last visit, carried out last April.
This new public facility has a total investment of 2,147,753 euros, including a modification of the original project to construct the enclosure of the building and adjacent areas. The project includes two floors above ground with 1,511.41 square meters of constructed area, with spaces and classrooms for the development of training programs and employment workshops, in addition to the aforementioned enclosure.
This project is part of the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy of Nerja (EDUSI), co-financed 80% by the European FEDER Fund, and the remaining 20% with municipal funds.
José Alberto Armijo has indicated that, once the works are completed, the new building "will be a reference in the region and will serve to provide quality training to the young people of the municipality with the aim of facilitating their incorporation into the labor market."
