The Patron Saints walk the streets of Nerja under a shower of petals

The Patron Saints of Nerja, San Miguel Arcángel and Nuestra Señora de las Angustias, were once again in procession through the streets of Nerja. After the mass celebrated in the church of El Salvador, the images went to the arches of the Balcón de Europa where they were received by a shower of petals by more than 30 Nerjeñas dressed in mantillas. Next, the burning of a fireworks display took place.

The procession continued its journey to the Ermita de las Angustias. The procession was chaired by the mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, the councilor of the Fiesta Mayor, Elena Gálvez, as well as the eldest brother of the Nuestra Señora de las Angustias and San Miguel Arcángel Brotherhood, Francisco José Martín, along with members of the municipal corporation, the older brothers of the Nerja brotherhoods and other authorities.

Once in the hermitage of Las Angustias, the Virgin stayed in her seat and San Miguel continued his journey until he returned to the church of El Salvador.

The Patron Saints of Nerja were accompanied on their tour by the Municipal Music Band of Nerja and the Music Band of Calahonda, Granada.
