Nerja, February 16, 2023.-
The Carnival of Nerja 2023 has started today with the spectacular Proclamation of the María Martín Jaime Group, who have combined theater and music transmitting the carnival feeling of a group of girls, who as adults manage to fulfill their dream of becoming Carnival proclamators.
After the proclamation, which drew a standing ovation and applause from the public, the crowded auditorium of the Villa de Nerja Cultural Center was filled with music by the ?Los Quintana? troupe from Malaga.
The event was attended by the mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, the Councilor for Popular Traditions, Elena Gálvez, and members of the Municipal Corporation, together with representatives of the associative fabric and neighbors.
