The Media Legua Playa de Burriana returns in tribute to Francisco Ortega Olalla AYO

The Media Legua Playa de Burriana Tribute to Francisco Ortega Olalla AYO will be held again after two years of pandemic. "This unique race, one of the few where part of the circuit runs through the sand of the beach, will take place on August 26 from seven in the afternoon", highlighted the Councilor for Sports, Daniel Rivas, who has presented the sporting event together with the founding member of the Nerja Athletics Club, Enrique López Cuenca.

The event plans to bring together more than 150 athletes who will compete in five races of different modalities, both male and female, from prebenjamin with a distance of 450 meters, to the sub16 to veteran categories that will complete a circuit of 2,750 meters, that is, three full turns.

The first three places in each category will receive a trophy, and in the absolute races, cash prizes will be awarded for the first five places.

Registrations remain open. They can be done on the website www.nerjaatletismo.com or at the headquarters of the Nerja Athletics Club, at Calle Pintada, 38. The dorases will be delivered at the Chiringuito de Ayo on the day of the race from 5:30 p.m.

Daniel Rivas and Enrique López Cuenca have launched an invitation to neighbors and visitors to participate or attend this popular race, which opens the calendar of the autumn/winter athletic season in Nerja and Maro.
