The City Council, through the Local Government Board, has expressed its ?firm adherence to the Spanish Constitution of 1978 as it is the pact that we all made as a result of agreement and understanding and not of imposition; integrates without excluding; "It does not divide, but unites Spaniards around a common project." This is expressed in the motion approved and presented by the mayor, José Alberto Armijo; the first deputy mayor, Francisco Arce, and the spokesperson for the Municipal Group of the Popular Party, Angela Díaz.
The text makes it clear that Spain ?is a strong, plural and principled democracy that has the means to counteract those who want to weaken it,? and joins ?the denunciation of all the associations of judges, of the senior judges, the presidents of the Provincial Courts and the General Council of the Judiciary who have criticized the risk of bankruptcy of the separation of powers that arises from the agreement with the Catalan nationalists.? Likewise, the motion opposes ?the reference to lawfare or judicialization of politics and its consequences because it denies that Spain is a State of Law.?
The motion also expresses ?the firm rejection of the granting of economic or fiscal privileges to
any Autonomous Community, since it breaks equality and solidarity between all territories
of Spain", and finally shows its "rejection of any Amnesty Law for going against the principle of equality of all Spaniards before the Law", as well as the holding "of any self-determination referendum of any territory of Spain. Both actions are contrary to the Constitution.?
The motion will be ratified in the next plenary session.
