The elders of Nerja and Maro participate today and tomorrow in the traditional Christmas lunch organized by the Nerja City Council and to whom José Alberto Armijo has wished a happy holiday season.
The mayor has reiterated "our commitment to the elderly of the municipality" and has expressed his wish that they enjoy these days with friends and family and that they keep in mind "those most in need."
He hoped that 2024 would be a good year in every sense, ?but especially from the point of view of health, which is the fundamental pillar that will help us overcome the problems.?
He added that "on behalf of your City Council, we will continue working so that many activities are organized by the Department of Seniors so that participation is what stands out, since being physically and mentally active is very important."
During the event, José Alberto Armijo was accompanied by the president of the Maro Cueva association, Plácido Portillo, the president of the Nerjamar association, José Villasclaras and the president of the Center for Active Participation of the Elderly, José del Rosal, whom he thanked the work they do in favor of the elderly of Nerja and Maro. Also participating were the Seniors' delegate, Elena Gálvez, councillors, the director of the CPA, Isabel López; and for the first time at this event, the manager of the Cueva de Nerja Foundation, José María Domínguez.
The older ones have been presented with a typical Christmas poinsettia and a bag of shortbreads. In addition, after the meal they were able to enjoy an after-dinner meal dancing to music by Plácido.
