The City Council is putting out to tender the works of the new library with a budget of 1,349,603 euros

The Local Government Board has agreed to approve the file for the contracting of the works of the new municipal library located on Calle Iglesia number 1, according to the motion presented by the mayor, José Alberto Armijo; the Councilor for Urban Planning, José Alberto Tomé; and the Councilor for Culture, Ana María Muñoz.

The base tender budget is 1,349,603.80 euros, and the works will be co-financed by the Provincial Council and the Nerja City Council.

Likewise, the agreement was adopted to publish the call in the contractor's profile of the Nerja City Council, hosted on the Public Sector Contracting Platform, so that interested parties can submit offers, with a period of 20 days from its publication. The execution period of the works is 12 months.

The Municipal Library will be a large public facility, which will have an area of more than 800 square meters, distributed over three floors and two basements. Users will also be able to enjoy a terrace with sea views.

The mayor, José Alberto Armijo, has indicated that the new library "will be a first-rate cultural facility, with modern facilities and an unbeatable location, which will become a reference throughout the province."
