The Local Government Board has approved a motion by the mayor, José Alberto Armijo, and the councilors of Urban Planning, Finance and Social Services, through which the basic project of a Home Residence, a Day Center and an Occupational Workshop Center is approved of Friendship for people with intellectual disabilities, as well as the specifications that regulate the concession of use of a plot of 4,980 square meters of public facilities in the La Noria sector for said project, which has an estimated budget of 7,726. 462.51 euros
The Home Residence will have capacity for 48 people, the Day Center for 24, and the Occupational Center for 30 people.
The mayor, José Armijo, said at a press conference that it is an ?ambitious project, but we have enormous enthusiasm and motivation to face this challenge and make it a reality in the shortest possible time.?
He thanked the president of the Friendship Workshop, Gloria Matuano, and its managing director, Victor Gil, for their involvement and added that ?this City Council will continue to be committed to the association. From now on we will monitor and open the participation of other administrations that must be involved with this important project.?
Gloria Matutano thanked the City Council for its support ?and especially from José Alberto Armijo, who has been helping us for almost 30 years, since 1996, when I have been bothering him and is increasingly involved.
