Salud receives seven offers to build the new health center in Nerja

The Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs has received a total of seven offers for the construction of the new health center in Nerja, which was put out to tender last September for an amount of 9,460,549.29 euros (with VAT).

The deadline for submitting offers ended on October 24 and it will now be the contracting table that will study the different proposals presented and determine the award of the construction of this health infrastructure.

The company that wins will have a maximum period of execution of the works of twenty months, beginning the calculation from the day following the signing of the document verifying the layout and authorization of the start of the works.

The new Nerja health center will occupy a total constructed area of 4,520 square meters on three floors above ground plus basement and will have 26 standard consultations, three type I multipurpose consultations, two type II multipurpose consultations, five pediatric consultations, a breastfeeding, one for minor surgery, a dental office, a health education room, a physiotherapy room, a physiotherapy consultation, a rehabilitation consultation, a conventional X-ray room, a mammography room, a triage room, four consultations emergency room, an emergency room, a treatment room, two treatment and observation rooms, a teaching classroom, a meeting room, a social work office, a nurse manager's office, and a public health office.

In addition, common and service facilities are included such as administration-reception, citizen service office, material warehouse, pharmacy warehouse, communications room and electrical installations, toilets, cleaning offices and garbage rooms, staff room, bedrooms and changing rooms/showers.

With the construction of this new health center, financed with funds from the MINAP 100% Plan (Primary Care Infrastructure Improvement Plan), framed within the Primary Care Action Plan 2022-2024, the Government of Andalusia wants to adapt the provision of basic primary care services to a reference population that, according to IECA data, in 2022 exceeded 24,700 inhabitants.

Currently, more than 75 professionals provide service at the center, with the broadest portfolio of services of those defined for a Primary Care UGC, including Emergencies (with special mention to the needs that arise in the summer period), Radiology, Rehabilitation and Dentistry, in addition to the periodic visit of the obstetrician and the rehabilitator.

Once completed, the new center will be able to have 17 family doctors, three paediatricians, 15 family nurses, one school nurse, two pediatric nurses, three auxiliary nursing care technicians, one x-ray technician, one midwife, one nurse case manager, two physiotherapists, eight emergency nurses, eight emergency doctors, a social worker, a dentist, seven administrators, a guard and five driver guards.
