The Nerja City Council is working on the development of the Nerja 2030 Urban Agenda, as a planning instrument for the future of the municipality and which will mark the strategy and actions to be developed in the time horizon of the year 2030. The work began in May 2023, with the analysis and diagnosis of the municipality. To learn about and evaluate the diagnosis made and the actions of future proposals, a Citizen Participation Day has been called today to which groups, associations, and neighbors in general have been invited.
The event was attended by the mayor, José Alberto Armijo, the Councilor for European Resources, María del Carmen López, and spokespersons for all the political groups, in addition to the technicians who are working on the project. It has assessed the main strengths, weaknesses, and challenges identified in Nerja, as well as the proposals for actions that will form part of the Action Plan of the Urban Agenda of Nerja.
José Alberto Armijo has stated that the Urban Agenda 2023 ?is a document for everyone and an important tool for the Nerja of the future?, which is why he has requested the participation and involvement of citizens, as well as all political groups so that said agenda has ?plenary unanimity?. He also pointed out that thanks to this Urban Agenda "Nerja will be better positioned when it comes to obtaining European resources."
The residents have been able to participate during these days in a survey where a series of questions have been asked about different areas of the municipality, their perception, opinion and prioritization and they will be able to continue doing so in the coming weeks through various actions.
