The Plenary Session of the City Council has agreed to the adhesion of Nerja to the ?Municipalities against Abuse? campaign promoted by Antena 3 Noticias and Fundación Mutua Madrileña. The motion has an institutional nature and has been presented by the mayor, José Alberto Armijo; the Councilor for Equality, Daniel Rivas and the spokespersons for all political groups.
Adhering to this campaign means that the City Council acquires a series of commitments, such as declaring that Nerja has zero tolerance against abusers and collaborating with Justice and the Police to prosecute them.
Likewise, the City Council is committed to producing and installing signs and posters against abuse in central areas of the municipality, in addition to training actions aimed at young people, as well as promoting conferences and talks.
Likewise, the Plenary has unanimously approved a motion by the mayor, JoséAlberto Armijo, the councilor for Equality, Daniel Rivas, and the spokespersons of all political groups for the adhesion of the Nerja City Council to the declaration of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces with occasion of November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
