Nerja celebrates World Breast Cancer Day tomorrow with the event ?Pink is more than a color? in the Plaza de Cantarero starting at five in the afternoon, and a walk on Sunday, starting at 12 noon departing from the Balcony of Europe. These events are organized by the AECC with the collaboration of the Nerja City Council.
The mayor, José Alberto Armijo, and the president of the AECC of Nerja, Aurelia López, have invited the population of Nerja and Mareña to participate in these events, a request that has been joined by the councilors of Social Affairs and Health, Daniel Rivas and Javier Rodríguez, respectively, and the member of the AECC of Nerja, Gema García.
José Alberto Armijo has thanked the work of the AECC of Nerja, its president, Aurelia López and the people who make up said association, for demanding that breast cancer continue to be investigated ?and working to end this terrible disease?,
He also reiterated, once again, his support for the AECC, highlighting ?our permanent commitment to collaboration? and added that ?we want to continue supporting so that you have the means and resources to continue helping people who need it.?
For her part, Aurelia López thanked the mayor for his collaboration, pointing out that at all times she has felt ?very supported and very protected? and wanted to highlight a note of optimism ?because I do not want to convey the idea that cancer is insurmountable.?
For her part, the member of the AECC of Nerja, Gema García, explained that tomorrow's event will include the participation of the Zumba Group and Sara Jorge's group. A manifesto will also be read, there will be information tables and registration for Sunday's walk will be open.
In case of rain, tomorrow's events in the Plaza de Cantarero will be moved to Sunday, before the walk. What will continue tomorrow, Thursday, regardless of the weather, is the mass that will take place at 7 pm in the church of El Salvador and the floral offering to the Virgin of the Desamparados in honor of people with breast cancer. .
