Nerja is currently celebrating various activities on the occasion of the First Library Day that will end tomorrow, the 25th.
One of these acts was the one starring Paloma Rivas Gallardo, and consisted of a book storyteller titled ?Picasso Painted Us?, of which she is the author. In front of a group of boys and girls, Paloma has brought the figure of the universal Málaga native to the little ones in an enjoyable and fun way, at the ?Salvador Rueda? Municipal Library.
Paloma Rivas Gallardo is a neuropsychologist, health psychologist, teacher and speaker. She is the author of two children's books and a soon-to-be-published novel.
The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor, Angela Díaz, and the Councilor for Education and Culture, Ana María Muñoz, who highlighted the importance that libraries have in the training and leisure of citizens.
In this sense, he recalled the library project that will be built at number one Iglesia Street, in the vicinity of the Balcón de Europa, ?an ambitious project promoted by our City Council, with our mayor at the helm, with the aim of providing to our municipality a first-class cultural facility.?
?We are in the approval phase of the Administrative and Specific Clauses Documents that will allow the works to be put out to tender, with the aim of starting them in the shortest possible time,? said the councilor.
Ana María Muñoz highlighted that "this important project involves an investment that amounts to 1,349,603.80 euros, of which the Provincial Council contributes one million euros and the rest will be covered with municipal resources."
The Municipal Library will be a large public facility, which will have an area of more than 800 square meters, distributed over three floors and two basements. Users will also be able to enjoy a terrace with sea views.
