The Councilor for Popular Traditions, Elena Gálvez, has presented a preview of the program of Christmas events 2023/2024, which has more than 60 activities from this Friday, December 1, until January 7. Also present with the councilor were the president of the Neighborhood Association of the Las Protegidas Neighborhood, José Miguel Ortuño; the eldest brother of the Parish Group of Jesús Cautivo and María Santísima de los Desamparados, Antonio del Corral; and Miguel Hermoso, member of the Three Wise Men Encarnita Kronox Association.
The activities begin this Friday with the inauguration of the Municipal Nativity Scene at the Tourist Office, at 6:00 p.m., with the participation of the Pastoral of the Neighborhood Association of the Protected Areas.
The lighting of the Christmas lights on the Balcón de Europa will take place on December 9 at 7:30 p.m. with the participation of the Pastoral de Frigiliana. On Sunday, December 10, the Rosary of the Bell Ringers of María Santísima de los Desamparados will be celebrated.
On December 17, the Las Protegidas Living Nativity Scene will be inaugurated and on the 22nd, in the Plaza de España, the Christmas Park and Market will open with snowfall included. On Saturday, December 23, the Santa Claus Parade will take place.
On Sunday, December 31 at the Balcón de Europa, starting at 11:30 p.m., the great New Year's Eve party will begin and on January 5, the traditional Three Kings Parade will take place.
There will be no shortage of pastorals, Christmas dessert contests and Day of the Crumbs in Maro, workshops, or lunch for adults. All activities will be informed promptly.
