The delegate councilor for Public Health, Javier Rodríguez, has held a meeting with officials from the Costa Animal Society and Refugio Felino de Leo associations, and with private caregivers who manage the feline colonies of the municipality, on the occasion of the application of the new Law of Animal welfare. This new Law came into force on September 29 and regulates the rights and situation of domestic animals in the country.
The councilor asked attendees for an inventory of the number of colonies, their locations, number of animals and their condition, in addition to the people responsible for their care, with the aim of regularizing the situation of the municipality's feline colonies as established by the aforementioned law. .
