Festivities in Nerja

All of them with a symbol of mourning attached to their costumes.
  • Resident's Day (March): This celebration celebrates the coexistence of 60 different nationalities in the town of Nerja. The celebration lasts for one day and takes place around the Balcón de Europa .
  • Easter: celebrated between the months of March and April depending on the year.
  • Cruces de Mayo : This celebration decorates the entire town with floral crosses made by hand by the locals. A competition is also held to choose the winning work.
  • Pilgrimage of San Isidro (May 15): one of the most characteristic festivals of Nerja.
  • San Juan (the night of June 24): Burriana beach hosts different performances to celebrate the night of San Juan. Sardine skewers are traditionally prepared on this beach full of bonfires.
  • Virgen del Carmen Procession (July 16): This day the patron saint of Nerja walks along the Nerja coast surrounded by boats. A unique day among Nerjeños. It is a unique procession for which it is worthy of admiration.
  • Nerja Caves Festival (July-August): This festival brings together many famous people who perform in the surroundings of Las Cuevas de Nerja .
  • Virgen de Las Maravillas (September 8): procession that takes place on the first of the three days of festivity in which the Maro Fair is celebrated around the virgin.
  • Tourist Day (September): This event aims to publicize the town of Nerja nationally and internationally.
  • Feria de Nerja (912 October): The date of the Feria de Nerja may change depending on the calendar, but it is always held during the second week of October.
  • Maroween : The way to celebrate Halloween in Maro is unique and special. The night of October 31 will surprise you.
  • New Year's Eve : In Nerja the year begins from the Mirador del Balcón de Europa. Sip the grapes outdoors surrounded by music and entertainment.
